How to Set Up an E-Commerce Online Store (Websites)

What is an Online Store?

An online store is a virtual platform that allows businesses to sell products or services to customers globally. It enables customers to browse, select, and purchase items from the comfort of their own homes using a computer or mobile device.

Let's walk through the steps of setting up and using your own e-commerce Online Store in Adaptive AI.

Use the Store Setup Wizard

The Store Setup Wizard guides new store users through the key steps needed to launch an ecommerce store in Adaptive AI.

To start the wizard:

1. 1Go to Sites > Stores.
2. 2If the welcome modal appears, click Start Onboarding.
3. 3Complete the setup steps in the wizard.
4. 4Use the step CTAs and linked help docs to finish each task.
5. 5After all steps are complete, use the Setup Completed CTA to finish the setup flow.

You can complete the steps in any order. You can also skip a step and return to it later.

1. 1Create and configure products to display in the Online store Business users will be able to make use of the toggle at the top while creating a product to define the products that are to be displayed in the online store.

Additionally, businesses will now be able to have 3 core functionalities required for presenting products/services in their online store

Delete a Store

Deleting a store removes only the pages that belong to that store. This helps protect the rest of your website and makes store deletion more predictable.

When you delete a store, Adaptive AI removes store-related pages such as:

Your main website pages, such as Home or About, are not deleted.

Delete a store from the Stores list or Store Settings

Store deletion works the same way from both entry points:

To delete a store:

1. 1Go to Sites > Stores.
2. 2Open the three-dot menu for the store, or open Store Settings.
3. 3Select Delete Store.
4. 4Type DELETE in the confirmation modal.
5. 5Click Delete.

• You can create an online store while editing any website page. If the website does not already have a store, adding a Store element or pre-built Store section starts store creation automatically. 1. Open the Website Builder. 2. Click Add element. 3. Drag a Store element, such as Cart, Collections List, or Featured Products, onto any page. You can also drag a pre-built Store section onto the page. 4. In the import modal, choose one option: - Add Store: Creates the store and imports the selected design settings from the current page into the store pages. - Skip: Creates the store without importing the current page’s theme settings. 5. Adaptive AI creates the store and adds the required store pages. Continue customizing the store pages, Store elements, and pre-built Store sections. The first Store element or pre-built Store section triggers store creation. If you add multiple Store elements before the store is created, only the first one triggers store creation. Any Store elements added after creation are added as normal page components. Imported pre-built Store sections appear below the Store element. If you manually delete any store page, Adaptive AI deletes all store pages for that store.

When an online store is added to a website, 5 pages are added by default to the website which will form the building blocks for your store. Businesses will be able to add any other kind of elements around the store elements that will help them in giving an overall customized experience to their customers that suits their brand needs

Users will be able to format the elements added by default to match the brand aesthetics of their overall website. Each element will have General and Advanced settings for formatting.

Product titles display in full (without ellipses) across most storefront purchase pages and key store elements to improve clarity during checkout.

Tracking order submissions and payments made on the online store

Businesses will be able to track all orders placed on the online store along with the payments made by navigating to Payments -> Orders and Payments -> Transactions. Businesses will also be able to process any refunds using the same

1. 1Fulfill orders and send shipment details to your customers Businesses will also be able to mark orders as fulfilled and share shipment/tracking details with customers. By default, any order placed on the online store would be in an unfulfilled state. Business users will have the ability to attach a tracking number, provider, and URL to track the status of the shipment. When an order is marked as fulfilled, an entry related to the fulfillment will be included in the order details, highlighting the date on which fulfillment was done, tracking details, and the number of items fulfilled in the order

Q. Can I sell recurring products in my online store?

No, only one-time products will be listed by default in the online store

Q. I have attached multiple images of my products and services. Is there a way I can set the default images for each variant?

Yes. You can map product images to specific variant combinations. When a customer selects a variant on the Product Details Page, Adaptive AI automatically selects the image assigned to that variant, when available. The assigned image becomes the active image in the gallery or carousel.

Q. I have created a store for test purposes. How do I delete it now?

Q. How do I mark the orders created as fulfilled? How do I share shipment details with my customer?

Users will be able to Fulfill items inside the order details and attach a tracking number/URL to automatically send shipping updates to their customers. This is not available currently but in the works and will be live shortly.

Q. Can I create multiple stores within the same location?

Yes, you will be able to create multiple stores within the same location.

Q. Can I create an online store in both funnels/websites?

No, an online store can be configured only inside a website. Users will still be able to sell products using order forms on funnels

Q. I have created a store for test purposes. How do I delete it now?

You can delete a store from Sites > Stores or Store Settings. You can also delete one of the store pages manually.

When you delete any store page manually, Adaptive AI deletes all store pages for that store. Non-store website pages remain unchanged.
